Foundation Learning

Foundation Learning funding (previously known as KS4 Engagement funding) is available to support students following an Entry Level or Level one course.

As in previous years, the national aim is to put together an individual programme for selected pupils, which must include all 3 elements of a Foundation Learning programme:
Vocational or specialist subject
All 3 Functional Skills – English, Maths and ICT
Personal and Social Development

Schools have identified learners, and these are following programmes in 2010-12 which include a Carousel of Taster qualifications at a local college, an IT or Workskills course at school, or a vocational course at a college. Student details have been placed on CLM, so that school staff are able to track attendance and progress on the CLM system, as with all other collaborative provision.

If you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, and have suggestions or would like to discuss plans already in progress within your institution, please contact Ronnie McGovern at the Titan office.
