Consultation on Qualifications for 14-16 year olds and Performance Tables – open until 30 Sept 2011

Following the Wolf Review of Vocational Education published in March 2011, the DfE proposal are aimed at reassessing vocational qualifications in terms of content, assessment, and opportunities to progress.  http://www.education.gov.uk/consultations/index.cfm?action=consultationDetails&consultationId=1766&external=no&menu=1

Congratulations to Handsworth Wood Girls School and Birmingham Metropolitan College.  These institutions are working together, using funding from an LSIS STEM bid, to encourage more girls to consider careers in STEM areas, and in Engineering in particular.  Activities will include an interactive day of events at the college, a STEM Leadership club in school and a trip to the National Space Centre for Year 9 students.
