Kindly hosted by Lozells Primary School, the Titan Primary Head Teacher’s meeting took place on 22nd May. Attendees received updates from Kathy McDonough and Julie Newbold from Birmingham City Council as well as from Primary Forum via our network representative, Janet Edwards.
Important discussions around safeguarding and SATs also took place. The meeting also reviewed the successful moderation sessions that have taken place and agreed to start planning for moderation across 2018/19. An update on Titan activities and growth of the network also took place and discussion on how the membership offer can continue to be of real value to primary schools next academic year.
As Titan’s strategic partnership with Century Tech develops, Avnish Dhesi, Head Teacher at Lozells Primary, plus two students and a teacher, demonstrated how the Century Tech platform is starting to have a real impact across the school. Century Tech, an artificial intelligence platform which improves student attainment whilst also reducing teacher workload, has been embedded into the Lozells teaching and learning strategy with great results that are starting to demonstrate tangible impact. Head teachers that attended the meeting had the opportunity to hear from two year 6 students and one teacher regarding their experiences of using the platform.
Julie Newbold from Birmingham City Council, joined the meeting to introduce their new Traded Services offer and to provide support to schools that may help them save money across a range of services. The meeting was also joined by Laurence Begley from Hamilton Deed, a leading UK consultancy in Quality, Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental policy. Laurence discussed Hamilton Deed’s hands-on, on-site support service to schools and how this might save time and money in areas of compliance.
