Aston Pride
WHAT IS ASTON PRIDE?Aston Pride is the 10-year New Deal in the Communities (NDC) regeneration programme that was launched in 2001 to improve the local area. The scheme focuses on the themes of:
- Health
- Education and Lifelong Learning
- Employment
- Community Safety
- Housing and the Environment
In 2003, Aston Pride was re-launched and re-energised with a new partnership team and since then the programme has gone from strength to strength. Crime has fallen, the area is being made a more attractive place to visit, and local people are beginning to benefit from a wide range of schemes designed to improve their lives.
Who are the Partners?Aston Pride is led by Birmingham City Council and a range of partners including:
- Police
- Fire Service
- NHS
- Community & voluntary sectors
- Schools and Colleges
- Jobcentre Plus
- The local community
- The business sector
Strand 3 Physical/experimentalSchools will choose from a menu of entitlement and activities for pupils.
- All pupils to have secure access including transport to a high quality sports, physical activity centre.
- All pupils to be provided with basic equipment to ensure safe access to physical activity.
- Upgrading of physical education changing facilities.
- Upgrading of external facilities e.g. play surfaces to allow extended community usage.
- Provision of �safe areas' in schools for extended use by students and family groups.
- Community access to garden areas.

Titan Partnership and Aston PrideTitan Partnership supports Aston Pride by supporting the schools in the Aston Pride area. Titan manages the main Aston Pride education initiative the Aston Pupil Guarantee. Titan also manages the Aston Pride Education Group (APEG) on behalf of Aston Pride.
