City Learning Centre
City Learning Centres are well-equipped high technology centres for use of schools and the local community. The centre has a number of work stations connected to the Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL) and to the Internet. The CLC will provide: Programmes of activity for pupils On-line support to the other Network schools Video conferencing facilities Cybercafe, design bases, language facilities, multi media libraries and learning Games workshops A new and exciting way of learning for life A Hub' school, where the centre is based, has technological links with the other schools in the Network referred to as Spoke' schools. The centre offers curriculum enhancement opportunities, resources and facilities not normally available in schools. The curriculum provision is devised to suit the needs of the pupils who will use the centre. The CLCs are intended to support the other strands of the Excellence in Cities initiative.
