Individual Learning Plans
Individual Learning Plans play an important part in the debate about Information, Advice and Guidance for our students.
- As learners are offered a widening choice of programmes at KS4, including vocational, it becomes more and more vital to ensure that KS3 is a time for exploration and planning for the future. ILPs can make a great contribution to this preparation and planning.
- As a learner progresses through KS4, he or she needs to become more focused on particular targets for improvement. Whether these be academic, social or behavioural targets, an ILP can help the learner to stay focused.
- Teachers meeting students for regular reviews find ILPs invaluable for collating information and gaining an overview or an in-depth snapshot of progress.
Different ideas exist about the content of an ILP, and its ideal use.
