14-19 Collaborative Courses
Did you know? Almost 400 students from North West Network schools are attending one day per week courses at a local college or work based learning provider. Courses include Performing Arts, Sports, Motor Vehicle, Catering and Construction. For more information please contact Ronnie McGovern

Partnership with NCSL
Titan Partnership is working closely with NCSL on a number of initiatives but notably a Within School Variation Project. Local secondary schools have identified a focus for a school base-based project for this year. The schools involved will work together and share their findings and experiences.
Within School Variation is a national project managed through the Nationa College for School Leadership (NCSL) and is now in its fourth year.

Aston Schools-Business Project 2008-09
Planning for the annual Aston Schools-Business Project is well underway with a number of businesses already committed to supporting business-based projects in schools.
Businesses involved include ASDA, Carrillion, HSBC, Eversheds, Marks & Spencers's, Your Move Estate Agents and Cadbury's. We are grateful to all of the companies involved for their support.
The aim of the project is to expose young people to the world of work and to enable the project to be spread across the year to ensure regular contact between the schools and the company.
Year-on-year the project grow in size with the number of pupils involved also increasing. We are proud of our acheivements to date and would welcome any company interested in being involved contacting the Titan office for further information.

Gifted & Talented Network Activity
The Titan Partnership manages the North-West Network Gifted and Talented activities with the schools.
This academic year there will be a number of activities taking place across the network including Soundcity, visits to Land Rover and the Botanical Gardens, Learning Skills programmes, Data Logging event and residential experiences.
Other activities may include summer sports schools, Orienteering, visit to the National Space Centre and thinking skills seminar.
The gifted and talented programme in schools is focused on 'stretching' able and gifted pupils in academic and non-academic fields. For more information on Gifted and Talented activities across the city go to the Birmingham Grid for Learning website.

Titan Confidential
Titan is launching a series of activities for staff in schools to support Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Activities will include confidential support for Head teachers and support for senior staff through collaborative working across a number of the Partnership's schools.
One of the aims in offering support of this nature is to ensure that schools in the Titan Partnership do not fall into government categories of special measures and serious weaknessses.
