Secondary SCITT

Overview

SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) is a 36 week full-time post-graduate teacher training programme. A group of schools take the lead in designing the training programme.

The Titan Secondary SCITT offers training across Key Stages 3 and 4 (11-16 year olds). Successful applicants to our programme will work in at least two of the participating schools gaining experience both in the classroom and in the general day-to-day life of a school.

The course offers Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Master’s credits. The PGCE qualification is validated by Birmingham City University.

Our course fees are £9,250.

The course elements are assessed by:

  • Development Log – Trainees keep a reflective log of their training and learning experiences throughout the course.
  • Written assignments and a research task presentation are completed as part of the PGCE.
