During these uncertain times as the Covid-19 virus continues to spread across the UK, we appreciate the concerns and pressures that you will be experiencing as education establishments. Titan is here to support you, your staff and your students in whatever way we can therefore please do let us know if there is anything at all we can do to help ease the challenges you are facing.
By way of an update regarding Titan operations, all members of Titan staff will be working from home by Friday 20th March. Please rest assured that we have all forms of communication covered and will be available to support you. You will be aware that all of our meetings, activities and events over the next few weeks have been postponed and we will review those due to take place after the Easter break regularly. As a member-led education network Titan is keen to ensure that we continue to provide benefit, value and impact and will therefore provide alternatives to the postponed activities where we can. These alternatives will include virtual meetings, curated online resources and signposting to relevant information.
In relation to the Titan Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme, we have taken the decision to postpone training sessions (BEIs, SAAs, SKPs) until after the Easter break to avoid people from different schools being in close proximity to each other. Following government advice and the different actions that schools are starting to take regarding visitors, Titan ITT has made the decision to postpone all arranged QA observations and visits until further notice.
Like yourselves, we are taking advice from the government and the DfE with regards to trainees and their positions in your schools. As the government has not yet taken the decision to close schools, the school-based training programme will continue as scheduled. If the government does close schools, trainees will still be considered to be ‘on programme’ even if they are unable to attend their placement schools therefore should be treated the same as every other member of staff in your school. The ITT team will of course be available to support the trainees and the staff working with them in your schools.
The situation is very fluid therefore we will of course inform you of any changes to this information.
Thank you for your continued support of Titan and the Titan ITT programme. Please do keep us updated as to the situation in your organisation and do contact us directly if you have any specific requests or ideas regarding the support that Titan might provide.
Let’s stay in touch. Stay safe and healthy.
