The Secondary Head Teacher meeting took place virtually on Wednesday 13th May. Much of the discussion focussed on how schools are addressing the Covid-19 crisis with schools sharing ideas and good practice as they work towards re-opening.
The Head Teachers were joined by several guest speakers:
- Mike Hopkins, Principal at South and City College Birmingham, joined the meeting to discuss how SCCB can support Year 11 and Year 13 students.
- Paul Finnis, CEO of The Learning Foundation, provided information on how our network might develop an approach to tackle tech poverty and work towards a 1:1 technology strategy for all our schools.
- Gareth Millar from TES Global, joined the meeting to discuss how schools can most effectively recruit and conduct interviews online.
The online meeting was well attended and incredibly useful, with Head Teachers requesting the addition of a further informal meeting.
This meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday 17th June, 9:00am-10:00am. This meeting is in addition to the previously scheduled meeting dates and is intended as an informal ‘keep in touch’ for members of the group to share ideas and good practice.
