We have been working closely with our employer contacts this half term and supporting them to engage with schools virtually to enhance schools’ careers programme. Our work with Micro-Tyco, Young Enterprise and the Princes Trust continues with their fully funded projects adapted to run online, with support from industry representatives.
We are making good progress on our updated and redeveloped Virtual Careers and Skills Fair website, launched last year as an alternative to our annual face to face events for students in Years 6 to 8. The website is designed to enable students to access it independently without the need for teacher support, though it also makes an excellent resource for careers focused lessons. We are introducing new features this year such as mini-interviews with a range of employers to showcase a variety of careers, plus online activities, and competitions.
